Hello Casa Grande and surrounding neighbors! I’m Patrick Higgins. I'm a retired electrician and handyman with over 40 years of experience in electrical work and home repairs. Whether you need faulty wiring fixed, energy-efficient lighting installed, furniture assembled, or small home projects tackled, I bring expertise and care to every job. I currently work part time as a golf cart mechanic for Cart Barn, formally Moores Golf Carts in Casa Grande.
I was a commercial tradesman my entire professional career and have met and worked with people from all walks of life, giving me a unique insight into things important in life.
I met mostly hard-working blue-collar people. A few famous ones too. I was installing a large generator and found out it was Bob Sieger's home. I got a chance to meet Bob and actually did some work in his music studio the next lake over. How cool is that! I met Areatha Franklyn a couple of times. This was way back when I had a boat business. She had bought a power boat and was scared to death about taking that six-inch step from the dock to the boat deck. She wanted me to make a small bridge for her. It never worked out; it was too expensive.
I grew up on the shores of Lake St. Clare. It had an ever-present view of Canada, An unusual view to the east. The rest of the country views it to the North. I remember the low rumble of freighters in the quiet evenings. I spent most of my summers sailing and exploring the wonderous Great Lakes. Then enjoyed the wonderful transition to a winter wonderland. It is through that lens I write fantasy adventure stories about the human condition. Loves and loves lost, courage and betrayal, humility and pride.
I'm currently residing in Southern Arizona, arriving in a roundabout way from Michigan to Hawaii then California. When compared to the more tropical environments, the Sonoran Desert is harsh but also is the most complex desert in North America. This extreme environment fuels the imagination on how such a diverse variety of plants and animals can survive and flourish here.
Arizona is also home to 22 Native American Tribes including the Navajo Nation which is the largest in both population and land area. The Diné (Navajo) culture is rich with stories passed down through countless generations. Their stories tell of the creation of the world, the sky, the land, the animals, and the people. They have become a source of great inspiration to me.
So, now I write imaginative tales and do handyman work to support my writing.
